Eucatastrophe : (이야기의 갑작스러운) 행복한 결말, 기분 좋은 마무리
1)
Euatastrophe, this is a catastrophe or dramatic event at the end of a story that leads to the resolution of the plot or it results in the well-being of the hero
I personally think that Tolkien probably uses, you could eucatastrophe in the same way as ' deus ex machina ', this is a phrase where suddenly a god appears and makes everything right and this used to be a way of making of ending Greek dramas (you can refer to the its details by my past post if you want )
eucatastrophe, it's like a happy ending that comes out of a catastrophic event
it's a sudden turn of events at the end of the story
I think very often Tokien uses eucatastrophe as a deus ex machina solution to the problems
a sudden and favorable resolution of the events
a happy ending
2)
notice, 'Eu' at the bit is positive, it's something good
a catastrophe, tragic event, an utter failure
the eruption of the volcano was a catastrophe
so, eucatastrophe effectively means a good catastrophe literally
