Over-Egg : (설명/장식 등이) 과하다, 너무 가다, 너무 더하다, 사족을 달다, too much 하다, 투머치하다

1)
this has got the idea of putting too many eggs in your pudding
you might also hear the phrase to over egg the cake or even just the verbs it self to over-egg, I think this is probably to over-egg, over hypen(-) egg
If you over egg the pudding, you do too much
you go too far by adding too many extra details

it's to add too much extra detail to something and like that to actually spoil it
you spoil it by trying too hard to improve it

more and more extra details, more is not better necessarily

so much more than necessary

don't over egg the pudding when it's perfect
just get it right, just leave it there

it's spoiling something by making and adding exaggerated details

2)

if you are going to lie, keep it simple, because it's very easy to ever egg the pudding
when you are lying and you give too many extra details and then people suddenly start not to believe you
you can buy all sorts of extras for this machine but I think if you've got tooo many you start to over egg the pudding
I like to do pencil drawing and very often you get to a point and the picture looks really really nice and then do I stop or do

I carry on becuse very often you find it loses this simple easy good feeling that it has

if you make a song, if a song sounds good, you need to stop, don't over egg the pudding
when somebody makes an insureance claim, they tend to over egg the pudding, they tend to exaggerate the claim, then the insureance company might query it or send a loss adjuster to reduce it again and to check the real amount of it
if you say someone is over egg the pudding, you are saying they've added too many extra details
the designer over-egged the pudding, I think it's just too complicated, too fussy

3)
the origin this idiom came from the fact that with a good pudding, you need to get the right amount of eggs.

not too many not too little
too much or more eggs for making a pudding, can spoil its taste

right amout of eggs is important
