Cut Short : 갑자기 끝내다, (예정보다) 빨리 끝내다, (~말을)가로막다

a shorcut, if you are driving somewhere maybe you know a shorcut, a route that goes from one place to another that is quicker or more direct than the usual route
it's a quicker way of doing something that you can save time or effort
there are shortcuts on the keyboard of your computer. Ctrl +V is a shortcut for paste, Ctrl +C is a copy
in the way I've explained shortcut here, it's good thing. it's way of saving time or effort
a method of achieving something more quickly but also a shorcut is where you chose step maybe reduces the quality
don't take shorcuts, you will get into trouble
it can be normally positive things but sometimes can be negative things as well

to cut short, if you cut something short, you reduce the time that something was scheduled to happen
the part of the picnic was cut short by rain
the match was cut short by rain
we had to cut short our trip to France because we ran out of money earlier that we thought we would
to curtail something
to make it last less time than was originally planned
i had to cut the lesson short
3)
you could also cut somebody short, to interrupt them before they finished what they are saying
it is very rude to cut people short
he was talking on and on and on and finally I cut him short and said that's enough
