Initiative : (특정한 문제 해결·목적 달성을 위한 새로운) 계획, 절차, 전략, (나의 선택/나의 판단/ 나의 주도에 따른) 자주성, 결단력, 진취성, 주도권, 주도, 우위, 유리한 입장

 


1)
you could use initiative , to means a new plan
there has been a peace initiative by a third country to try to end the war
the police have started an initiative to reduce crime in the area
a new plan or a new process to achieve something or to resolve a problem
strategy or an action desigened to resolve a problem to improve a situation
a plan, a scheme, a strategy
the government has started several new initiatives to increase the employment 
it can be also the procedure or the power to introduce legislation but the power of a normal citizen where somebody can propose 
to take the initiative

we can also use initiative, talking about the ability to use your judgement without being told what to do
to make decisions to decide what to do without somebody's telling you what to do
