Song said that the country urgently needs to minimize climate change risks by making more investments, particularly in smart farming businesses. Smart farming’s data-driven automated control over environmental conditions creates ideal conditions for growing natural crops in the summer when extreme heat and floods persist for months. For natural produce growing outdoors, such weather conditions are lethal and disrupt production.

Song said that the government has begun counter-climate change measures for seasonal fruits and vegetables in summer, including oriental melons, watermelons, peaches and cabbages, by improving water drains for on farmlands in case of flooding and securing extra stocks so that supply won’t fall behind demand.
