Situational Grammar : 상황에 따른 문법
Situational Vocabulary : 상황에 따른 단어
1)
Situuational Grammar, this is giving students a situation and teaching them a type of grammar that is associated with that situation
Imagine you have a class a low intermediate class and you tell them to imagine the situation where you go into a restaurant and what things are going to be said?
you go into the restaurant and maybe could you have a table for two please or do you have a table for two? and then the waiter might ask ' do you have a reservation?'
it's the use of different grammar and different vocabulary in a situation to help students to learn
what's good about this is that certainly you are learning languge in context and there's a very wide range of different things you are learning and also I think the sitiuation shows that the meanings are very very clear
I think it's also good beause you can use this for role-play but between two or three people, I think it's quite memorable for them
I think it's probably quite an efficient way to learn
I think one of the problems with it is that students can't really think of anything to say because you may have to do a lot of work as a teacher preparing them for the types of answer they might give
the introduction of the differnt things or the different pieces of grammar may take more time than you actually have available
personally I am not terribly fond of situational grammar or situational vocabulary for a method of teaching things, but it can be effective
this is probably a method of teaching that was very popular in I would say the 70s and the 80s, but now I think we've moved on and the new buzzword is flipped learning and learner-centered teaching
