Loath is an adjective and loathe is a verb. but the meaning is not quite the same
to loathe is to hate, to detest, to abominate
I loathe poeple who are dishonest and lie
to loathe doing something
I loathe washing the dishes
she loathes his sexist attitude 
it's to hate, to detest
someothing is absolutely disgusting
to abominate
the sisters loathes each other
