meaning that to behave normally in a satisfactory way in difficult condition

He acquitted himself badly (x) -> possible but it normally is used in a postive sense and satisfactory way
He acquitted himself admirably
He acquitted himself excellently

A noun of acquittal, only used in the legal sense
