Acquit : 무죄를 선고하다, 잘 행동하다, 잘못 행동하다, 잘 처신하다

Acquittal : 무죄선고

 

1)

A rule of law officially decides that you are not guilty, you didn't do it

It normally used in a passive way

He was acquitted, he was found innocent, not convicted

He was acquitted of a charge of theft

Be absolved, be exornerated, be exculpated

I was acquitted on all counts of fraud

 

2)

To acquit oneself (well)

meaning that to behave normally in a satisfactory way in difficult condition

He acquitted himself very well

they acquitted themselves very well during the match

He acquitted himself very satisfcatorily in the exam

He acquitted himself badly (x) -> possible but it normally is used in a postive sense and satisfactory way

He acquitted himself admirably

He acquitted himself excellently

 

3)

A noun of acquittal, only used in the legal sense
