This has two different meaning, in positive and negative ways

If a job is said to be finicky, it requires a lot of care and attention to get it right , it is demanding job

It needs a lot of care and attention to small details

A job or task can be finicky, it's you need to to concentrate on the small details

Computer programmer is very finicky, they need to get all small details, because small detailes are important
