more comnonly though lawfare is on a greater scale. it's the use of law by a country agianst its anemies to challenge the legality of what they have done
this is a modern thing, this is a new word as well
it's the use of law, to use it strategically to intimidate or to hinder to make it more difficult for your enemy to fight you or to worry them to disconcert them

this also is a tactic very often used by repressive governments or repressivedictators to stop the individual civilians or individual members of society in claiming their legal rights, particularly where there people advocate non-violent methods or they oppose discriminations or corruptions or limiting of freedom of speech
in the Israel-Palestine conflict, they've been many legal cases taken against Israeli officials to say that their action was illegal
