292. Walk Away / Walk In On / Walk Into / Walk Off / Walk Through - Phrasal Verbs with Walk

1)

Walk Away (from) : (힘든 상황·관계를 외면하고) 떠나 버리다

Walk Away With : ~을 수월하게 차지하다, ~간단히 이기다

to walk away, to leave

I walked away from the deal

I walked away from the job, because i couldn't take it anymore

to abandon, to turn your back on

 

to walk away with something

to be successful and survive

He walked away with the prize, to go through something difficult and be successful 

the team walked away with another victory

to survive a challenging situation

Walk over : ~을 깔아 뭉개다, ~을 모질게 다루다

Walk all over  

to walk over somebody

to walk all over somebody

to treat them quite badly 

his wife walks all over him

he walked all over the opposition, the match was easy

to dominate

 

 

3)

Walk In : 들어가다, 들어서다

A walk-in : 예약이 안 된, 예약이 필요 없는, 사람이 서서 드나들수 있는

a walk-in clinic is a place where you can go and see a doctor without making an appointment, you just walk in

 

 

4)

Walk In On : (방해하기 위해 갑자기/예기치않게 방에) 들어가다

to walk in on somebody

to enter unexpectedly or suddenly while something is happening

she walked in on husband while he was in the bed with his secretary to interrupt 

she walked in on me while I was undressing 

to intrude, to interrupt

to be unsuspecting or not to be cautious enough when something's bad is going on

 

 

5)

Walk Into : (걸어가다가) ~에 부딪치다, (주의 부족으로 나쁜상황에)빠지다

to walk into something

I walked into a wall, I crashed into a wall

to collide

to walk into a trap, to fall into a trap

 

 

6)

Walk Off : (걸으면서 작은 문제들로 부터)회복되다, (소화문제/더부룩함으로부터)소화시키다

Walk Off With : (상 등을)획득하다, ~을 쉽게 이기다

to recover after a problem

I had a huge meal and I was so bloated but I am gonna go and walk it off

to recover from a minor injury by walking around

when you're drunk, you sleep it off, to walk it off to walk around a bit help yourself feel a bit better 

we walked off in anger 

 

similar to meaning of walk away, walk away with

he walked off with the prize

 

 

7)

Walk Through : (어떤것을 배우거나 익힐 수 있도록)~에게 ~을 보여주다, 리허설하다

A walk-through : (연극/공연 등의)연습, 리허설, (어떤 절차에 대한)자세한 설명

to walk somebody through somthing difficult

let me walk you through this example

to go through, to show somebody how to do something

let me walk you through how to operate this machine 

a walk-through

to explain something step by step

my workmate walked me through the proceess

to rehearse something 

just walk through this before we do it again

 

 

8)

Walk Out with : ~을 애인으로 갖다, ~의 비위를 맞추다

to walk out with someone

this is a bit old-fashioned

my mother and fatehr were walking out when they left university 

to go out with, to be romentically involved with
