175. Fate vs Destiny - Difference

Fate : (운명에 따라 일어나는, 특히 좋지 않은일, 이미정해서 바뀔수없는) 운명, 숙명

Destiny :  (나의 결정에 따라 정해지는, 일어날 가능성이있는 )운명, 팔자

 

Fate

What has been programmed for us in life

This is something that we cannot change

Normally more negative or final, such as death, defeat

Somebody is fatalistic I can't change

In fate, we get to this point of a decision and we can only go one way

Fatalism, this is the belief that events are fixed and unchangeable

Divine decision

A power of universe that controls the way of things

The fate that universe decided

 

Destiny

It talks about destination

We can change our destination

Destiny is getting in sync with the universe and following the path that the universe want us to follow

Destiny talks about your destination where you are going

Also has predeternined events but we can make one decision or another

We shape our own destiny

We follow the path we take responsibility for our own life

Yes it talks about predetermined future but I think it talks about predetermined possible future

Destiny the decision that we've made now have brought us to the point
