It has been quite a long time since my last post. Today, I want to go back to basics and reset both my mindset and the direction of my life. As always, life does not always flow according to plan, and I am no exception.
After years of struggling with burnout, I completed my MBA in the UK and began building a new chapter in Singapore. For a while, it seemed that I had finally settled into a new role and a new life.
However, the wave of retrenchments in Singapore has become a reality for many people, and this time, it has reached me as well.
During my two-month notice period, I did my very best to find a company that could support my work visa sponsorship, but unfortunately, I was not successful.
I have decided to remain in Singapore for another three months on a tourist visa and continue doing my best to pursue new opportunities. At the same time, I need to prepare a Plan B, because the high cost of living in Singapore means I cannot stay indefinitely without a stable income.
When I look back at the time when I suffered from severe burnout, I had almost nothing: no money, no friends, no family nearby, no job, no health, and not even a clear purpose in life. But today, the situation is completely different.
I am deeply grateful to have the healthiest version of myself, both physically and mentally, a handful of reliable friends, financial stability, and an academic achievement that I am truly proud of.
Because of that gratitude, I refuse to view this moment as a defeat. I choose to see it as an opportunity to reorganize my priorities, redefine my direction, and reset my purpose in life.
In the end, I am the only person who can truly save myself. So I will not kneel before the challenges and uncertainties ahead of me. I believe, without doubt, that I will overcome them and one day look back on this period with a smile.
Please give me the inner strength not to be swayed by external circumstances or temporary setbacks.
I hope that three months from now, I will return here with a new post, a new beginning, and a genuine smile :)
